FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quality control of fire-retardant treatment of wooden building structures. Disclosed is a method of controlling the quality of fire-retardant treatment of wood, which consists in the removal of samples of materials of an article from wood for testing to determine the state of fire-retardant coatings or treatments, wherein the samples used are wood chips obtained by drilling a hole with a diameter of not more than 6 mm, the depth of which is determined in accordance with the depth of impregnation of the treated wood to 60 mm, drilling of the hole and extraction of the analysed chip samples is carried out in steps with depth of 10 mm, the obtained analysed chip samples are soaked for 18÷24 hours in 10 ml of water, separating the aqueous extract from each analysed sample, the obtained solution is taken with a pipette, uniformly coated with the lower prism of the refractometer and the obtained value is read on its scale; the concentration of inorganic salts is calculated from the value obtained on the refractometer.

EFFECT: invention provides quality control of fire-retardant treatment of wood without using an open flame source, which enables to analyse content of inorganic salts included in the fire-retardant composition on the surface and in depth of the analysed material.
