FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method and technique to control the quality of the product fire-retardant coating (treatment) and to define the limit state of the fire-retardant coating (treatment) efficiency loss under real operation conditions for different materials and products. Samples or fragments of the product coating material are made as detachable sample-markers which are produced from the material analogous to the product material; dimensions and amount of the sample-markers are specified by test regulations. Afterwards the sample-markers are placed on the product surface and simultaneously undergo fire-retardant coating or treatment, then the sample-markers are marked with the identification codes and part of them are demounted to perform primary tests. In case control over the limit state of the fire-retardant coating (treatment) of the product material under real operation conditions is necessary the remaining sample-markers are demounted from the product surface without any damage to its integrity and undergo the necessary tests according to the control cyclicity.

EFFECT: new method of control over the limit state of the fire-retardant coatings or treatments of product material is proposed.
