FIELD: electrical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used for production of cathode active material for proton organic chemical current sources, utilization of which has less effect on the environment than utilization of current sources based on transition metal oxides. Cathode active material in the reduced form consists of oligomeric chains of thiophene compounds connected in series by hydroquinone fragments, which increases specific capacity of the material by up to 111 mAh/g, which is 85% higher than the specific capacity of the prototype. Disclosed method for synthesis of cathode material by electrochemical oxidation of industrial hydroquinones and thiophenes enables to avoid preliminary multistep synthesis of thiophene-hydroquinone monomers or quinoid polymers used in prototypes.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is increased specific capacity of the material relative to the prototype selected from the class of burnt cathode materials comparable in terms of effect on the environment, with reduction of the number of cathode material synthesis stages.
