SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry and can be used for production of functional products intended for preventive and dietary alimentation. A method of producing a food composition for preventing zinc deficiency involves dissolving 0.1319 g of ZnSO4⋅7H2O in 100 ml of distilled water, adding 0.5 g to 2.0 g of chitosan to the solution, stirring for 30 minutes and holding for at least 120 minutes. Further, the solution is filtered through an ashless filter, the filtered sample is dried at temperature of 100 °C for 120 minutes and storage of the finished composition in a closed container under conditions of room temperature and without direct access to sunlight.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a food composition suitable for enrichment of socially significant products.
