FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of organophilic saponite clay, which can be used as a structure-forming agent to improve the thixotropic properties of hydrocarbon-based drilling fluids, as a polymer filler to increase heat resistance and thermal stability, as an additive for increasing the strength of cement stone, as an adsorbent for purifying waste water from anionic dyes and surfactants. Method involves homogenising finely dispersed saponite clay powder with dialkyldimethylammonium chloride containing 78% of the main substance, while stirring for 45 to 60 minutes and further dispersion on a vibrating screen to obtain a fraction of less than 71 mcm.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain clay material preserving sedimentation stability of carbon-based drilling fluids.
