METHOD FOR UTILIZATION OF FLARE GASES AT OIL AND GAS PROCESSING ENTERPRISES USING RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC B01D53/62 B01D53/48 B01D53/73

Abstract RU 2837571 C1

FIELD: flare gases processing method.

SUBSTANCE: method is characterized by the fact that at the first stage the flare gases pass through the raw material preparation unit, which is intended for cleaning of flare gases from undesirable components, such as carbon oxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen oxide and hydrogen sulphide. At the second stage, the purified flare gas passes through the hydrocarbon components production unit, which is intended for absorption of heavy hydrocarbon components by liquid absorbent in absorption column, production of propane-propylene fractions and production of hydrogen-containing gas in depropanisation column. At the third stage, the hydrogen-containing gas is supplied to a hydrogen production unit, where it is subjected to separation in a column and membrane (or adsorption) equipment to obtain hydrogen, methane, ethane/ethylene and a residual portion of propane/propylene. At the fourth step, the propane-propylene fraction is separated, at the propylene production unit, into propane and propylene in depropenisation columns, propane is converted to propylene in a propane dehydrogenation reactor, and propylene is separated and dried from moisture. At all stages of the process plant, electric heaters and air coolers are used, which operate from renewable energy sources.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase the depth of oil refining, provide energy-independent power to the process plant, and ensure a high level of environmental friendliness of the process.
