SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, gastroenterology and infectious diseases, and can be used for prediction of acute intestinal infections in infant boys. At 4-6 weeks of life, intestinal microbiota is examined in the child’s faeces by sequencing 16s rRNA genes. if observing bacteria of the genus Escherichia and/or Shigella in relative representation of more than 1.5% in the intestinal microbiota in an infant boy, a high risk of developing acute intestinal infections is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables predicting the development of acute intestinal infections in infants depending on sexual dimorphism, higher information value and safety of the method by detecting Escherichia and/or Shigella bacteria in the faeces of an infant boy.
