FIELD: neonatology.
SUBSTANCE: used for early prediction of the risk of intestinal colonization by K. pneumoniae in preterm infants in the neonatal period. The method includes the use of a mathematical modeling method, where the absolute number of leukocytes, the percentage of activated CD14+HLA-DR+ and CD14+CD64+ monocytes are determined in the umbilical cord blood of a child by flow cytometry, followed by the calculation of the prognostic index (PI) according to the formula. At PI more than 0, a high risk of intestinal colonization by Klebsiella pneumoniae in preterm infants in the neonatal period is predicted, and at PI less than 0, a conclusion is made about a low risk of colonization of the intestine by this microorganism. The proposed method is minimally invasive (cord blood), allows you to predict the colonization of the intestine Klebsiella pneumoniae in preterm infants from the first day of life.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of predicting intestinal colonization by Klebsiella pneumoniae in preterm infants in the neonatal period up to 84.38%.
