METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF ACUTE VIRAL RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS FREQUENCY IN CHILDREN IN AGE GROUP OF 1-6 YEARS OLD Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/50 C12Q1/6869

Abstract RU 2817268 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, and can be used for prediction of AVRI incidence in children aged 1–6 years. In the interrecurrent period, a smear is taken from a posterior pharyngeal wall and stool is sampled for analysis. Method includes qualitative and quantitative determination of microbiota of oropharynx and intestine by sequencing region V3-V4 gene 16S rRNA. Number and ratio of the percentage of bacterial types in the microbiota are taken into account. If Firmicutes in oropharynx are 28.36% or less, in intestine 29.27% or less; Actinobacteriota in oropharynx 1.11% or less, in intestine 5.01% or less; Proteobacteria in oropharynx 4.36% or more, in intestine 0.9% or more, wherein in the intestinal microbiome relative to oropharyngeal Firmicutes is higher by 7.57% and more, Actinobacteriota is higher by 28% and more, a high risk of frequent acute viral respiratory infections in a child is stated.

EFFECT: method provides simplicity of implementation, reduction of labour intensity, faster and more sensitive assessment of the incidence rate of acute viral respiratory infections in children by qualitative and quantitative determination of the microbiota of the oropharynx and intestine by sequencing the V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA gene.
