FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: gas turbine system (1) includes gas turbine engine (3), first fuel pipeline (4) configured to supply fuel to gas turbine engine (3), heat recovery steam generator (11) configured to receive flue gases discharged from gas turbine engine (3), and second fuel pipeline (39) configured to supply fuel to afterburner (37) of heat recovery steam generator (11). Carbon dioxide trapping unit (31) is connected via fluid medium with chimney (25) of heat recovery steam generator (11). Recirculation pipeline (33) recirculates flue gases from chimney (25) of heat recovery steam generator (11) to afterburner (37) in heat recovery steam generator (11). Carbon dioxide return line (51; 61) recirculates gas flow containing carbon dioxide from carbon dioxide trapping unit (31) towards gas turbine engine (3) or afterburner (37).

EFFECT: described is a gas turbine system and a method for generating electric power with improved carbon dioxide trapping.
