FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of synthesis gas by reforming hydrocarbon-containing gas, particularly for production of ammonia make-up gas. Invention relates to combination of such reforming process with gas turbine generator. Described is a method of producing a hydrogen-containing gas, in which: reforming a hydrocarbon-containing gas to produce a hydrogen-containing synthesis gas; generating mechanical power by a gas turbine engine and preferably electrical energy by a generator connected to said gas turbine engine; at least one process stream of the reforming process is preheated, in which: preheating heat source includes gas turbine engine waste gas; preheating includes heat transfer from waste gas to process stream, carried out in indirect heat exchanger, where waste gas and process flow are not mixed; wherein the stage of preheating of at least one process stream of the reforming process includes: a) preheating the hydrocarbon-containing gas before reforming said hydrocarbon-containing gas in an autothermal reformer (ATR); and this process involves use of hydrogen-containing synthesis gas as make-up gas for ammonia synthesis. Also disclosed is an apparatus for producing hydrogen-containing gas. Invention is also preferable for combined production of ammonia and urea.
EFFECT: invention provides significant reduction of total consumption of natural gas, is adapted for implementation of ammonia synthesis method with efficient carbon capture and low CO2 emissions into atmosphere.
