FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used in multifunctional aerodrome radars and air traffic control systems. Using the aerodrome secondary monopulse radar operating in RBS and S modes, requests A, C and S are periodically sent, wherein the requests have alternation A, C, S; receiving responses to requests, wherein responses to request A are decoded both at request interval A and at request interval C by determining range from request A; responses to request C are decoded both on request interval C and on request interval S by determining range from request C, mode S general call responses are decoded on both the request interval S and the request interval A by determining the range from request S.
EFFECT: increase in the range of the aerodrome secondary monopulse radar operating in the RBS and S modes.
