SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of controlling operation of a beverage preparation device and a beverage preparation device. Device comprises a brewing chamber configured to provide a beverage brewing process, a heater configured to heat water, main pipeline unit, made with possibility of providing water transportation from heater to brewing chamber, and water collection zone outside brewing chamber. Method involves a pre-heating procedure, wherein the brewing chamber is rinsed with hot water before the beverage brewing process, wherein during the pre-heating procedure the heater is operated to heat the water, and the following is successively carried out: a) drainage of water from the main pipeline assembly into the water collection zone and b) feeding hot water from the heater into the brewing chamber through the main pipeline assembly.
EFFECT: invention discloses a beverage preparation device and a method of controlling the operation of this device.
