SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a safety system for a garment care device comprising a steam generator and an opening located in the steam generator. Garment care device comprises a steam generator and a plug located on the steam generator for access to the inner part of the steam generator. Plug is made with possibility of disconnection from the steam generator by means of rotation along the thread. Plug comprises a mechanism that performs mechanical movements depending on the temperature of the steam generator, so that said mechanism is configured to prevent the plug from being disconnected from the steam generator, when the temperature of the steam generator is equal to the specified threshold value (T1) of temperature or exceeds it. Mechanism comprises an element capable of reversible thermal deformation, the expansion of which, when the temperature of the steam generator is equal to or exceeds a predetermined threshold value (T1), causes said mechanism to prevent plug disconnection from steam generator, and the compression of which, when the temperature of the steam generator is below a predetermined temperature threshold (T1), forces the mechanism to provide the possibility of disconnection of the plug from the steam generator.

EFFECT: safe use and longer service life of the garment care device.
