FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: skin care device (S) comprises a skin care element, skin-contacting surface (10), mounting element (104) for installing skin-care element (110) and a skin-contacting surface and a friction control means (124), made and arranged with possibility to control friction between contacting skin surface and treated with skin (S) in at least one area of controlled friction of skin-contacting surface during use, when skin-in contact surface moves over skin (S). In particular, the friction control means (124) are configured to provide a sliding movement of the controlled friction area relative to locating element (104) in a direction corresponding to the local length of the skin-contacting surface. Device comprises a sensor device made and arranged to determine a first parameter, which relates to a value of friction between skin-in contact surface and skin during use, and the friction control means are configured to control the second sliding parameter depending on the first parameter value determined by the sensor means. First parameter represents, for example, the actual direction of movement of the device relative to the skin during use or the value of the skin protrusion in the hole for entering the hairs of the skin care element. Second parameter is, for example, frequency or maximum speed of sliding motion.
