SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic remote trade, in particular to means for remote selection of clothing items for users of this system based on 3D scans of users. Disclosed system for recommendation when choosing clothes contains: user device, comprising a camera, communication means and a graphical user interface and configured to form user images, transmitting them to a server, receiving recommendations from the server and delivering the recommendations to the user; and a server containing a database of dimensional features of clothes, configured to receive images of the user from the device of the user, forming based on them the dimensional features of the user, comparing the dimensional features of the user with the dimensional features of the clothes, sorting the comparison result to form a fit rating, generating a recommendation and sending the recommendation to the user’s device. Said system employs leading dimensional features of the user, selected from all dimensional features of the user, to determine typical figures of men and typical figures of women, wherein the degree of connection between features x and y is measured by a correlation coefficient r_xy.
