FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for use in determining disturbed marginal adherence of filling material to dental tissues in experiment. Teeth previously extracted for medical reasons are prepared to form artificial carious cavities. Cavities are filled with the analysed filling materials. Then, thin sections are made by sawing teeth in longitudinal plane. Surface of the thin sections is stained with a caries marker for 5 seconds and washed off with water, the surface is dried, and the perimeter of the filling-tooth boundary is visually assessed by two parameters – the colour of staining and the completeness of staining with the evaluation result expressed in points. If observing the absence of staining of the perimeter of the filling-tooth boundary, the degree of manifestation of the disturbed marginal adherence of the filling material to the dental hard tissues is determined as 0 points. When staining the boundary of hard tooth tissues and filling material not on the entire perimeter, and the staining colour is pale pink, the degree of manifestation of the disturbed marginal adherence of the filling material to the hard tooth tissues is determined as 1 point. When staining the boundary of hard tooth tissues and filling material not on the entire perimeter, but the staining colour is bright pink, the degree of manifestation of the disturbed marginal adherence of the filling material to the hard tooth tissues is determined as 2 points. When staining the border of hard tissues of the tooth and filling material on the entire perimeter, and the colour of the staining is pale pink, the degree of manifestation of disturbed marginal adherence of the filling material to the hard tissues of the tooth is determined as 3 points. When staining the border of hard tissues of the tooth and filling material on the entire perimeter, and the staining colour is bright pink, the degree of manifestation of the disturbed marginal adherence of the filling material to the hard tissues of the tooth is determined as 4 points. Obtained quantitative values are used to determine the degree of manifestation of the disturbance of the marginal adherence of the filling material to the dental hard tissues in the experiment.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for quantitative assessment of the severity of the marginal adherence of the filling material to the dental hard tissues.
