FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to corrosion testing of packed rolled metal. Method of testing a packaging unit containing rolled metal, having a fold in the form of rolls and packs, for corrosion resistance of rolled metal is characterized by that this method is carried out in cycles in two stages, at the first stage in a closed volume containing a packing unit, hot water vapour is supplied, at the second stage supply of hot water vapour is stopped, and then at this stage natural cooling of the packing unit is performed, which ensures formation of condensate.
EFFECT: checking the protective properties of the package against moisture, which causes corrosion of the rolled metal at cyclic changes in temperature and humidity, as well as prediction of the state of the appearance of the rolled metal after its delivery to the consumer in the package.
