SUBSTANCE: invention relates to essential oil, food and chemical-pharmaceutical industry. Method of producing essential oil from Sievers wormwood, Artemisia sieversiana Willd., including hydrodistillation of the dried above-ground part of the raw material collected in the flowering and budding phase, providing for the accurate weighing of herb weighing 50 g, milled to a particle size of 1.0-10.0 mm, which is placed in a round-bottom flask, adding water 300-600 ml, then the flask is connected to a Clevenger attachment and a reflux condenser, the round-bottom flask with the contents is heated and boiled for 4-5 hours, wherein the distillate drainage rate is 60 drops per minute.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain essential oil with high output and simultaneous release of biologically active substances 1,8-cineole, α-bisabolol, chamazulene.
