SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a computer-implemented method of controlling access of a user of a second terminal to a confidential message of a user of a first terminal and to corresponding machine-readable media. Method comprises steps of: detecting a confidential message and a receiver at a first terminal; setting the address of the second terminal based on the determined receiver; transmitting an access control status request from the first terminal to the second terminal; and transmitting the confidential message from the first terminal to the second terminal only if the second terminal has responded to the request with status notification and access control at the second terminal is active in accordance with the status notification.

EFFECT: high security of the sender of a confidential message with respect to undesirable access at the recipient's terminal.
