FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to asphalt additives. Disclosed is an additive to asphalt from artificially ground rubber, which contains a plurality of structural particles; and non-elastomeric liquid, which includes organosilane or glycol; wherein at least a portion of the surface of the structural particles is coated with said non-elastomeric liquid and is associated with said liquid; and wherein at least about 90% of the structural particles in said additive have size of 16 mesh to 300 mesh; an asphalt composition and an asphalt-concrete mixture containing the disclosed asphalt additive.
EFFECT: development of a dry method for manufacturing an individual modifier from artificially ground rubber for an asphalt concrete mixture, introduced as fine aggregate during production of asphalt concrete mixtures for use in laying asphalt concrete road surface, wherein artificially ground rubber is accurately dosed into asphalt concrete mix in form of powder or fine aggregate.
