SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for forming materials for asphalting. Method of producing a thin asphalt coating comprising steps of: combining a base asphalt, an oxidised polyolefin, and an aggregate to form an asphalt paving material, establishing, at a given thickness, high temperature rutting of a relatively compacted asphalt-concrete material containing an aggregate and base asphalt without an oxidised polyolefin and depositing a layer of asphalt paving material on the substrate and compacting the asphalt paving material to a thickness that is less than the specified predetermined thickness of the relatively compacted asphalt paving material; wherein high temperature rutting decreases or remains at the same level in comparison with said high temperature rutting of the compacted asphalt paving material.
