SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics. Method of stabilizing the scale of the energy scale of a gamma-spectrometer when detecting natural gamma-radiation comprises steps of selecting four energy windows on the slopes of peaks of natural gamma-radiation 2.62 MeV and 1.46 MeV, determining the error signal from pairwise comparison of windows on the slopes of each peak and hardware referencing during recording, based on said two peaks, of both the initial shift and the scale of the energy scale. Hardware referencing is carried out continuously while recording the spectra and for correcting the scale of the energy scale is carried out by changing the conversion coefficient of the recording path, and for correcting the initial shift by correcting the channel number during recording.

EFFECT: providing stability of the energy scale of a gamma-ray spectrometer without using light pulses, reference gamma-radiation sources and with correction of both the scale and the initial offset of the energy scale.
