FIELD: radiometric and spectrometric hardware. SUBSTANCE: flux of characteristic radiation generated by measured gamma radiation in additional screen made of material with fixed atomic number that directly surrounds scintillation detector with screen thickness close to saturation thickness of characteristic radiation for this material is utilized in the capacity of reference source in method recording radiation in two adjacent differential channels located on different slopes of reference peak. Method compares average pulse recurrence rate in first and second differential channels and forms control signal of correction of gain factor of detection path by comparison results. EFFECT: increased stability and reliability of method while used with various spectral distributions and intensities of measured radiation. 1 dwg
