SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmic oncology, and can be used for diagnosing lachrymal cancer. Lachrymal fluid of both eyes is analysed for alpha-2-macroglobulin activity. If value is more than 7.0 nmol/min×ml in lachrymal both healthy and patient's eye is diagnosed with cancer of lachrymal gland.

EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to improve the non-invasive differential diagnosis of lachrymal gland cancer and the selection of a therapeutic approach in the pre- and postoperative period by determining the activity of alpha-2-macroglobulin in the lachrymal fluid of both eyes in patients with tumours of the lachrymal glands at the stage of preoperative preparation.
