The method includes determining the activity of alpha2-macroglobulin (α2-MG) in the lacrimal fluid of a rabbit. If the value of α2-MG is more than 6.00 nmol/min×ml, an active destructive process is detected.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides the possibility of non-invasive evaluation of metabolic disorders, reflecting the active destructive process in the retina in dynamics.
