FIELD: cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering, namely to protection of spacecraft with nuclear power plant from induced radiation of its own external atmosphere. For this purpose, a positively charged screen is created and installed between the plant and the apparatus, and a thermionic electron source is used to neutralize charged particles. Radiation power is measured by a sensor. When the background level is exceeded, the gas blowdown system with nozzles on the screen connected to the cylinder with compressed gas is switched on. When radiation falls below the natural background level, the system is switched off.
EFFECT: higher reliability, durability and efficiency of spacecraft with nuclear power plant.
