FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: nuclear power plant (NPP) of a space vehicle includes a power unit that includes a gas-cooled nuclear reactor, machine energy converters, radiation protection, units of a heat removal system with structural members attaching them, as well as a cooler and an emitter. Machine converter consists of a turbine and a compressor with a generator. Turbine is installed parallel to the axis of the power plant; at that, the turbine inlet branch pipe is connected to the nuclear reactor outlet header. Compressor with generator are located after the radiation protection, and the turbine shaft is connected to a common shaft of compressor and generator with a spring. On side surface of the radiation protection there is a through slot, in which the spring is arranged in a sealing housing. The slot is equipped with a protective material insert.
EFFECT: decrease of temperature of pipelines with heat carrier, which pass through a radiation protection and excluding a cooling system from the structure, rise of temperature of heat carrier supplied to the turbine with corresponding improvement of energy conversion use efficiency.
