METHOD FOR RADIO COUNTERMEASURES TO UNMANNED AIRCRAFT Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC H04K3/00 G01S7/38 G01S13/88 F41H11/02 F41H13/00

Abstract RU 2839399 C1

FIELD: means of attack or defence.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and can be used in systems with a simple hardware composition consisting of radio monitoring stations (RMS) and radio countermeasures stations (RCS). Disclosed method involves operation of RMS and RCS hardware units using SDR technology, which enables, in addition to a radio monitoring mode and a jamming mode, to realize a mode for measuring range to a UAV in the near zone in an allocated time interval. Radio signal emitted by UAV equipment is received at the RMS in radio monitoring mode, the direction of the signal source is determined, the type and parameters of the signal are determined and transmitted to the RCS. Interfering signal with selected parameters is generated on the RCS in radio countermeasure mode. Wherein, additionally, RMS hardware is reconfigured to radar signal processing mode while RCS hardware is reconfigured to probing radar signal generation mode. Using the antenna and the radio transmitting device of the RCS, a probing radio signal is emitted in the direction of the UAV, and the signal reflected from the UAV is received using the antenna and the radio receiving device of the RMS. Processor for digital processing of the signal from the CPM determines the delay of the received signal relative the probing signal, from which the range to the UAV is determined. Then the RMS equipment is reconfigured for the radio monitoring mode, and the MRM equipment – for the radio countermeasure mode.

EFFECT: method of detecting and estimating range of radio-frequency radiating and radio-silent UAVs, which enables efficient radio countermeasures for UAVs at short ranges without using a radar station or range finder.
