FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ore dressing by froth flotation, namely, to control over discharge of froth from flotation machine. Method of controlling mass output of foam is that the pressure created by the foam layer is measured by immersing a sensitive element into the foam layer, on which, during the foam layer movement, dynamic pressure is applied, creating the moment, which is transmitted to the measuring element. Video camera is used to measure foam layer surface speed in zone ahead of sensitive element. Mass yield of foam is calculated by formula m =ρVS, where m is mass yield of foam, S is working area of sensitive element, V is speed of foam layer, ρ is the density of the foam, calculated based on the measured dynamic pressure and speed of the foam layer. Measurement is carried out in real time relative mass output of mineralized foam per unit length of discharge chute.
EFFECT: providing accurate measurement of mass output of mineralized foam, including by measuring a direct process parameter of operation of a specific flotation machine reduced to a common measurement scale.
