SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to ore dressing by froth flotation, namely to control of foam coming out of flotation machine. Method of controlling foam mass yield involves measuring pressure created by foam layer by loading a control sensor sensitive element into the foam layer, which is subjected to dynamic pressure during movement of the foam layer, thereby creating a moment which is transmitted to the measuring element. In addition, the speed of movement of the surface of the foam layer in the area in front of the sensitive element is measured using a video camera and the mass output of foam is calculated using the formula m=ρVS, where m is mass output of foam, S is working area of sensitive element, V is speed of foam layer, ρ is foam density. Control sensor is equipped with a housing fixed on a rod for attachment to a flotation machine with at least two holes in the bottom and with a plate fixed inside it on antivibration supports, on which are installed a video camera, a measuring element made in the form of a strain beam fixed on the console, and a sensitive element made in the form of a rod, wherein the video camera is installed so that the lens is located above one of the holes of the bottom of the housing, and the sensitive element so that the lower part of the rod passes through the second hole in the housing, and the upper part with one side rests against the strain beam.
EFFECT: providing accurate measurement of mass output of mineralized foam, including by measuring a direct process parameter of a specific flotation machine, reduced to a common measurement scale.
