SUBSTANCE: nicotine electronic vaping device (500) comprises a nicotine reservoir, heater (336) and a processing circuit, and the processing circuit used therein is configured to: determining a plurality of resistance values for heater (336) during a time interval; calculating a percentage change in resistance of heater (336) between a first of a plurality of resistance values and a second of a plurality of resistance values; determining whether percentage change in resistance of heater (336) exceeds threshold value of percentage change in resistance; and switching off the power of heater (336) in response to establishing that the percentage change in resistance of heater (336) exceeds the threshold value of the percentage change in resistance. It is determined whether the nicotine-containing unit has been removed from the nicotine electronic vaping device within the first threshold time interval after switching off and the power of the nicotine electronic vaping device is turned off when it is determined that the nicotine-containing unit has not been removed from the nicotine electronic vaping device within a first threshold time interval after shutdown.

EFFECT: possibility of controlling one or more elements of the nicotine electronic vaping device so as to maintain the nicotine electronic vaping device within operating limits defined for various parameters.
