FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of hot-rolled bars. Heating and hot rolling are performed in two four-roll passes located one after another and each of which has two pairs of parallel rolls, which axes are mutually perpendicular and located in one vertical plane, wherein second pass is turned relative to rolling axis by angle of 45°. Rolling in the first pass is performed at the following ratio of circumferential speeds of rolls: V2/V1=1.2-1.55, where V2 is circumferential speed of lower and left rolls of first pass, V1 is circumferential speed of upper and right rolls of first pass. Rolling in the second pass is performed at the following ratio of circumferential speeds of rolls: V3/V4=1.2-2.0, where V3 is peripheral speed of left upper and lower left rolls of second pass, V4 is peripheral speed of right upper and lower right rolls of second pass. Single reduction in the first and second passes is 1.9-2.1.
EFFECT: hot-rolled bar stock with fine-grained metal structure.
