FIELD: fire-fighting means.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to fire-fighting equipment, specifically to a method and apparatus for testing fire-extinguishing powder compositions. Installation comprises standardized fire (4) and fire extinguisher (2) configured to spray a fire extinguishing powder above the combustion surface in standardized fire (4), wherein installation comprises slit sprayer (3) associated with fire extinguisher (2) and configured to supply fire extinguishing powder with flat expanding jet (5), wherein slit sprayer (3) is located at a fixed distance from the edge of standardized fire (4) and at a fixed height above standardized fire (4) and enables to supply extinguishing powder jet (5) completely covering standardized fire (4).

EFFECT: more accurate determination of the fire-extinguishing properties of the fire-extinguishing powder by eliminating the operator’s influence on the process of extinguishing the standardized fire while maintaining the possibility of simulating the real conditions of fire-extinguishing.
