SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of generating and monitoring integrity of a multidimensional structure of electronic documents. In the method, when creating an electronic document, an information unit is formed, which is an electronic document created by a subset of content and a subset of metadata records. Content and its signatures calculated values, metadata records and their signatures, common root signatures of the electronic document, life cycle signatures of the electronic document, signatures of all processed electronic documents, as well as signature of multidimensional structure of electronic documents are stored in memory of data processing system. Integrity of an electronic document is monitored based on extraction of content and metadata records, calculation of signatures and comparison thereof with previously extracted signatures.

EFFECT: monitoring integrity of the multidimensional structure of electronic documents, which increases the level of security thereof by enabling detection and localization of electronic documents and components thereof which have undergone destructive effects.
