FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removal of hydrogen sulphide from industrial gases. Disclosed is a solid sorbent containing iron (III) hydroxide. Method of producing the solid sorbent involves mixing powdered slaked or unslaked lime or soda, as well as chalk and gypsum, in a container to a homogeneous mass. Iron (III) chloride solution is added to the obtained homogeneous mass while stirring, and bentonite clay is then added. Mixture is granulated to obtain 2-10 mm granules, which are dried to moisture content of 5-10 % and calcined at temperature 400-700 °C for not less than 1 hour.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to obtain iron-containing sorbent with high sorption capacity.
