SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to surgery, paediatric surgery, urology, paediatric urology-andrology, and can be applied in prediction of the effects of high-pressure balloon dilatation of a ureterovesical stricture. In the method for predicting the effectiveness of balloon dilatation of the inferior ureter stricture in children by measuring the length of the ureter stricture, the mouth of the ureter is found in the colour duplex mapping mode, positioning the ultrasonic sensor so that the expanded ureter segment is as close as possible to the mouth, after that, measuring the distance between the mouth and the edge of the expanded segment, and if the balloon pressure is 25 atm or more at the time of its expansion and the ureter stricture length is 10 mm or more, the low effectiveness of balloon dilation is predicted. This way allows to forecast effectively result of high pressure balloon dilatation and to choose or change treatment strategy.

EFFECT: declared method is simple, informative and highly reproducible for determining the ureter stricture length and the expansion pressure of the balloon tip during the ureter stricture dilatation.
