METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIATED DIAGNOSTICS AND CHOICE OF TREATMENT METHOD FOR DISRUPTED URODYNAMICS OF LOWER URINARY TRACTS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B8/08 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to the field of medicine, namely to uronephrology, and can be used for differentiated diagnostics and choice of treatment method for disrupted urodynamics of lower urinary tracts in children. The transabdominal ultrasound scanning of urinary bladder and definition of its volume is performed. The volume of residual urine in urinary bladder is measured after voluntary urination of a child. In case a child has age-appropriate physiologic volume of urinary bladder and has no residual urine, the diagnosis is made of constrictive uro-hydronephrosis with congenital constriction of distal section of renal duct located above urine bladder, and the surgical treatment is chosen. If there is residual urine no more than 2 ml/kg of weight of child the diagnosis is made of reflux uro-hydronephrosis with neurogenic dysfunctions and conservative treatment is chosen with operative treatment in case of no effect from treatment till age of 8-10. If age-appropriate physiologic volume of urinary bladder is surpassed by twofold and more and residual urine is present in amount 5 and more ml/kg of child weight the diagnosis is made of bilateral megaureter with abrupt expansion of pelvis, renal ducts, megacystis and conservative treatment is chosen.

EFFECT: method provides for objective differentiation of clinical forms of urodynamics disorders depending on morphologic state of lower urinary tracts and for choice of optimal treatment method.
