METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF DEVELOPING INCONSISTENCY OF GASTRIC SUTURE LINE AND ANASTOMOSES AFTER BARIATRIC SURGERY Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC A61B17/00 G01N33/49 G01N33/72

Abstract RU 2841472 C1

FIELD: medical science.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to abdominal surgery, and can be used for the prediction of developing gastric suture line leak and anastomoses following bariatric surgery. On the first or second day following the bariatric surgery, the patient’s blood is examined for haemoglobin, stab neutrophil count, abdominal drainage volume in ml, as well as abdominal pain according to the VAS scale. Derived values are used to determine a risk of developing (p) inconsistency of the gastric suture line and anastomosis by preset formula. If p is less than 0.08 low probability of postoperative complications is predicted, and if p is greater than or equal to 0.08, a high probability of developing gastric suture line inconsistency and anastomosis.

EFFECT: method enables avoiding the development of severe complications following the bariatric surgery and reducing the length of patient’s staying in hospital by evaluating a set of the most significant parameters.
