FIELD: carbon black production. SUBSTANCE: gas fuel and air are fed in the form of swirl flows into reactor combustion zone wherein two-step cavitation treatment of carbon-containing material is effected before and after its heating at flow velocity 30-45 and 20-30 m/s, respectively. Into swirl flow of combustion products, air-sprayed heated raw material is introduced which is decomposed in reaction zone, whereupon carbon black is separated from formed product. According to invention, process is intensified by additionally blowing in into raw material before the first and second cavitation steps air heated to 300-500 C under pressure in amount not exceeding 30% of raw material volume. Apparatus has installed in series furnace for heating raw material, pipeline, and nozzles for feeding hot raw material along with connecting pipes for feeding spray air, combustion chamber with fuel- and air-supply connecting pipes, and reaction chamber. In pipeline, two narrowed sectors before and after heating furnace are available in which cavitation means are disposed made in the form of hollow cone (before furnace) and hollow pyramid (after furnace), their vertexes being oriented against raw material flow. Narrowing after furnace is provided with annular collector connected with air heater connecting pipe through holes which connect collector cavity with internal cavity of narrowing. Cone cavity communicates with air heater through a hollow shaft. Yield of carbon black is 43.5-48%, geometrical specific surface 99.5-103 sq.m/h, homogeneity degree 3.4-3.9, fraction of carbon black passing through 05 K screen is missing, and 014 K fraction content is 0.002-0.003.
