FIELD: chemical engineering; carbon production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method including feeding fuel, air, and water, burning fuel with air and mixing combustion products with steam, introducing radial streams of hydrocarbon raw material into narrowed stream of combustion products-steam mixture, and decomposition of hydrocarbon material with formation of carbon-gas products and their quenching. Method is distinguished with that water is introduced into narrowed stream of combustion products (1-140)x10^-5 s before hydrocarbon material is fed, and to the latter, alkali and alkali-earth metal additives are preliminarily added. The process is divided into two stages: fuel is first burned away in mixture with oxygen to form high-temperature stream of complete combustion products followed by their mixing with steam. Another peculiar feature of process is that ratio of weight inputs of water and hydrocarbon material into narrowed combustion product stream is 0.15-0.45. Reactor includes consecutively and axially installed fuel-air mixing chamber, combustion chamber, mixing nozzle with injectors for feeding hydrocarbon material, and reaction chamber with nozzles to feed water for quenching of carbon-gas products. Reactor is distinguished with its being additionally provided with water-feed injectors radially mounted in mixing nozzle before hydrocarbon injectors at distance equal to 0.1-2.4 diameter of mixing nozzle.
