FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: to produce photocatalyst with increased value of limit quantum efficiency of application of solar light, ion-exchange polymer is subjected to effect of copper or silver salts with subsequent restoration by sodium boride-hydride and oxidation at air by boiling in water or in 0,01 M NaCl solution. After that the polymer is impregnated by cadmium salt and sodium sulfide. The photocatalyst is formed which has CdS doped with copper or silver and wider spectral sensitivity than pure CdS and higher catalytic activity. At activation of the photocatalyst by salts of metals from platinum group activity of the photocatalyst grows higher. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 2 cl
