SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photocatalytic processes of hydrogen evolution, decomposition of organic compounds for air purification and other photochemical processes, namely, the invention relates to a composite mesoporous photocatalyst consisting of a carrier containing, wt%: ordered mesoporous silicon oxide MCM-41 30.0-75.0, aluminosilicate nanotubes 25.0-70.0, and supported on a carrier of cadmium sulfide in the form of quantum dots containing a transition metal selected from the series Ni, Co, Cu, Pt , Ru, Ag, Au in the form of nanoclusters, while the amount of cadmium sulfide is 5.0-20.0% of the mass of the photocatalyst, the amount of a transition metal selected from the series Ni, Co, Cu is 1.0-5.0% of the mass of the photocatalyst, the amount of a transition metal selected from the series of Pt, Ru, Ag, Au is 0.01-1.0% of the mass of the photocatalyst, and the ordered mesoporous silicon oxide MCM-41 and aluminosilicate nanotubes have the form of a hierarchical mesoporous composite.

EFFECT: invention increases the photocatalytic activity of the catalyst due to the presence in the latter of a system of pores and channels of a hierarchical mesoporous composite, which ensures an increase in the diffusion of reagents to the active sites of the catalyst, as well as the presence of the structure of active sites of the photocatalyst, which are quantum dots of cadmium sulfide with nanoclusters of a transition metal (cocatalyst).
