FIELD: borehole drilling. SUBSTANCE: sound vibrations are created in string of drill pipes. Resonance sound absorber is put on this section of drill pipes. Nomograms of dependences of absorbed frequency of resonance sound absorber on value of axial load are taken before investigation. Then density of sound vibrations is changed by shutting slot of resonance sound absorber. Spectrogram of frequencies of vibrations distributing over drill pipes and their absorptions are registered. Comparing obtained frequency f of absorption with calibrating one momentary value of axial load on drill bit is determined in accordance with formula P = K x f = P=K·f=K·(C:2π)[F:(V·h)]-1/2, where K is proportionally factor; C is speed of sound in fluid; F is area of slot of resonance sound absorber; V is volume of internal space of resonance sound absorber. EFFECT: increased accuracy of check of axial load on drill bit. 1 tbl, 3 dwg
