FIELD: analytical methods for gases. SUBSTANCE: invention can, in particular, be utilized for controlling environmental pollution level. Method consists in selecting and feeding trace substances being analyzed from the test gas into the inlet of chromatographic column to be separated and detected. Analytical tract is separated from the test gas by a gas curtain with stable composition. Increase in sensitivity is achieved by making consumption of the test gas superior to that of gas carrier. EFFECT: increased selectivity at high sensitivity and rapidity of detection of trace substances. 2 dwg
