SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass-spectrometry. Preliminary separation of light non-informative ions (reagent ions) from a stream of charged particles in a source of ions with ionization at atmospheric pressure is carried out without loss of ions of the target substance. Method is based on the fact that successively along axis of ion source there are 2 independent drift regions, in each of which there arranged are transverse pulsed electric fields of opposite direction, wherein in the first drift region, the more mobile light ions leave the ion stream and settle on the transporting system, and in the second drift region, the pulsed electric field corrects trajectories of ions of the target substance along the axis of the ion source.
EFFECT: increased analytical parameters of the analyzer.
