Abstract SU 1441534 A1

FIELD: catalysts for olefin polymerization processes. SUBSTANCE: catalyst is prepared by reducing titanium tetrachloride with an organoaluminum compound at molar ratio 3.2 to 4.5 in presence of an ether and halogen compound in hydrocarbon solvent. According to invention, as halogen compound, one selected from the following group: CCl4, EtCl, EtBr, EtI, PrCl, PrBr, PrI, BuCl, BuBr,and PhCl is employed in quantity 0.01 to 1.0 or iodine in quantity 0.001 to 0.003 mol per 1 mol organoaluminum compound. Method ensures obtaining catalyst with high stereospecifity, which preserves high activity and good grain- size distribution, using simplified technology making it possible to obtain polypropylene powder with high apparent density and containing practically no dustlike fraction.
