FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes catalyst system used for stereospecific polymerization of alpha-olefins, more particularly polypropylene prepared in the presence of catalyst system. Catalyst system comprises at least solid component based on complex of titanium trichloride of crystalline beta-form, organoaluminium compound containing no halogen and oxygen containing organo- silicon compound selected from compounds of general formula: R1Si(OR″)4-n wherein R1 is hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; one R1 substituent is selected from alkyl or cycloalkyl radicals containing one secondary or tertiary carbon atom; R″ is hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; n is integer of 3 or 2, n or R1 radicals and (4-n) of R″ radicals independently from each other are the same or different organic radicals. Method of polymerization of propylene is carried out in the presence of said catalyst system stereospecifically without deteriorating the properties of the resulting polymers.
