FIELD: hydroxyl-containing carboxylic acid esters. SUBSTANCE: in order to intensify the process, monochloroacetic acid is neutralized with NaOH or KOH in equimolar ratio to give reaction mixture containing corresponding salt of monochloroacetic acid. The latter is heated to 138-150 C and water is simultaneously removed. An organic solvent is than added. The solvent is selected from the group consisting of monohydric C1-C4 alcohols or ketones of formula: R1-CO = R2, wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different C1-C3,-alkyls in amount of 0.8-1.6 volume per 1 weight fraction of monochloroacetic acid. The residue is separated and the organic solvent is removed at reaction mixture temperature not higher than 160-175 C and the reaction water is then removed at temperature not higher than 190- 220 C and residual pressure of 6.67-10.67 kPa followed by separation of oligoether which is depolymerized in rotor film evaporator. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 2 tbl
