FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: propeller includes system of magnetic power members mounted on the hull and enclosed in flexible envelope 4. Each power member is formed of plates 5 with windings 8 over perimeter of these plates connected in turn to DC source and respective phase of polyphase alternating current in the phase sequence to the top of the hull. When power is fed to the power members, they perform periodic contraction and expansion causing respective deformation of their sections of flexible envelope 4, thus creating travelling deformation wave of flexible envelope 4 on the hull surface where members are mounted. As a result, enveloped 4 carries sorrounding adjacent layers of water creating the reactive thrust of the propeller. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency through reduction of dispersion of magnetic field among power members of the drive. 5 dwg
